Here at Retail inMotion we are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join us in our Dublin headquarters. As part of our in-house Finance Department you will collaborate both within the team and across other departments on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be tenacious about streamlining and automating processes and data flows. You will be given the support and autonomy to progress within the role along with a continued focus on up skilling and further education.
How you will make a difference:
- Lead and oversee the monthly corporate close process, including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, stock and accruals;
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statement analytics;
- Drive continuous improvement and reduce cycle time in the closing cycle through increased utilisation of technology and tools;
- Develop and maintain a system of internal controls and processes over financial reporting;
- Liaise with Product and Engineering teams and prepare technical accounting memo’s for the company’s core products;
- Manage the classification of the research and development to ensure intangible assets are accurately identified and recorded in accordance with accounting standards;
- Liaise with Tax Manager to provide accurate and complete cost a analysis for any R&D tax credit claimable;
- Liaise with Accounts Payable and prepare and post accruals and prepayment journals to ensure expenses are recognised in the correct accounting period;
- Liaise with Accounts Receivable to ensure that revenue is recognised in the appropriate period – including reconciliation of the Deferred Income Account;
- Prepare balance sheet support schedules and reconciliations for each Balance Sheet Account, liaising with colleagues to collect and review Bank, Tax and Intercompany reconciliations as appropriate;
- You will be responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with local and IFRS standards;
- You will liaise with external auditors, oversee their interactions with the accounting department ensuring statutory audits are completed on schedule.
The skills you will bring:
- You are a qualified accountant with a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in the accounting field, a ACA/ACCA/CPA is highly preferred;
- You have knowledge in technical accounting (Big four preferred);
- You have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal You have excellent numerical ability and attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment across multiple geographies;
- You have exceptional organizational skills, and timeline management skills.
